Broken Windows, Broken Lives- No evidence to suggest it works.

The NYC Department of Investigation part of the Office of the Inspector General for the NYPD recently issued an "Analysis of Quality-of-Life Summonses, Quality-of-life misdemeanor arrests and felony crimes in New York City from 2010-2015.''

Some of the key findings include:

-Blacks and Latino residents are targeted at higher proportions for quality of life enforcement compared to white residents. 

-There is no evidence to suggest that crime control can be directly attributed to issuing quality of life summonses and making misdemeanor arrests.
